With it's more than 4'200km in length is Chile spread over various climate zones. From the dry and hot desserts in the North (Atacama) down to the windy and rainy island in the South (Cap Horn) is everything there, including all kind of weather.

The north is good for traveling all year long. For the south including Patagonia is the best time from October till April. However, especially in the South (south of Puerto Montt) you always have to be prepared for some rainy days. And there is always wind, mostly from west.
